The Community Development Commission (CDC) of the County of Los Angeles is the County's affordable housing and community development agency. The CDC's mission is to build better lives and better neighborhoods .

The CDC was created in 1982 by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, who act as the agency's commissioners and set its policies.

In a unique move to bring together community and housing programs and services, the Board of Supervisors combined the CDC with the Housing Authority of the County of Los Angeles (HACoLA), which oversees the county's public housing and housing assistance programs. In bringing together these two entities, the Board created a single agency that is uniquely situated to leverage resources to promote quality of life in Los Angeles County communities.
