The genesis of the Lapro Electric Resonator Guitar came about as the result of experiments with a newly acquired lathe in late 2008. One evening after turning a number of maple bowls, I noticed that a half finished bowl sitting upside down on my bench had the same overall size and proportions as a biscuit-style resonator cone. It occurred to me that it might be possible to make an electric guitar with a turned wood resonator cone.
