Description
Passport/Visa Requirements: Australian travellers need only passports. Citizens of Canada , the U.K. and the U.S. need both passports and visas (passports must be valid for at least six months). Proof of onward passage is needed by all. Reconfirm travel document requirements with your carrier before departure.
Money: Major foreign currencies - particularly US $, GB £ and Euro € - and US$ travellers cheques are accepted and are convertible at banks and bureau de changes in the main town and tourist areas at better exchange rates. Credit cards are not widely accepted in Tanzania and carry poor exchange rates. Visitors to Tanzania may be expected to pay in US$ currency for game parks entry fees and for tour package. Do not change money in the street.
Weather: Generally dry and hot with cool nights/mornings, April to June is the Green season in Tanzania , July to August dry season, October is short rains, November, December, January, February and March dry season. The coastal strip Dar es Salaam , Zanzibar Island is hot and humid all year round. Temperatures on Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru drop to below freezing temperature.
