November 16, 2004 the Chamber of Commerce named economic development the number one goal for 2005. The City of Boerne, Kendall County, Boerne Chamber of Commerce and Comfort Chamber of Commerce joined forces to create the Kendall County Economic Development Corporation. March 2 and 3, 2005 the unanimous goal of the two day workshop was to establish a county-wide EDC.
