The Official Kelly Clarkson Fan Club was launched in February of 2005, Just prior to the start of the Breakaway Tour and Chances to win a meet and greet with Kelly were made available upon the launch of the site.
Membership is priced per year for VIP tickets to concerts, Meet and Greet chances, exclusive pictures, video's, and an online journal by Kelly herself, plus other member only perks. Discounts on memberships are also available in various promotions found on some websites, and in advertisements featuring Kelly as a spokesperson for some products.
The website also includes a message boards, exclusive member only content, contests, and an online store with concert merchandise. While the site is a Paid online fan club, there are several area's available to the general public, however, due to copyrights, most content is exclusive and may not be taken and/or posted elsewhere on the internet with proper approval of the fan club and management.
Currently as of September, 2006, there are over 20,000 members in the fan club, with more joining each day. A large portion of the members post on the message boards daily.
