- Karl Whitney was born, and lives, in Dublin, Ireland. He has worked as a journalist, editor, security guard, civil servant and tutor of English Literature. At present he is a Doctoral Scholar in the Humanities Institute of Ireland and a PhD candidate in the School of History and Archives, University College Dublin. His research concerns 1950s and 60s political movements in France and the literature and architecture of the time. He holds a BA in History and English from UCD and an MA in Modernism from University of East Anglia. He is also a fully qualified music manager. He writes stories, and is a contributor to a number of fiction websites. As a journalist, he has contributed to publications such as The Guardian, The Irish Times and The University Observer. For a while he specialized in humorous essays, but now rarely laughs. He can be contacted by email at karl (dot) whitney (at) gmail (dot) com.
