Well, Just me left!!! After 5 years the original Serfs have moved on. Victims of life. The new workshop will not be started until spring 2006. So until then....
What can I say, I am right brained guy stuck in a left brain world. Adapting though, lateral thought is a wonderful tool. Faced with the choice between taking 4 years at art school (Right Side) or an Applied Arts in Accounting (Left Side), I chose the later. Long haried biker, poof, suit and tie office geek. Quite the life experience but a mistake. So now after, 20 odd years of struggling internally with myself while making others wealthy, I have caved. I’m now working on my art full time and the accounting is in the "don’t have time for" or n/a pile instead. "Way more rewarding, fun, and healthier too!
I'm a mixed media artist, (utilizes many types of materials, textures, and styles in creating a piece.) From pencil sketching to sculpture, I try to establish a balance between both sides of our perception; appearance of flow and colour and the structure and balance of the work. My preference is in three dimensional art, but this is constantly changing and adapting to new ideas, plus I really just enjoy the process; after all, life on the fringe is where life is and there's no end in sight. Fringe dwelling Steve currently lives in, you guessed it, Kamloops, British Columbia with his wife. (We're empty nesters now, yay.) Still find ourselves phoning them all the time though, worrying about them and storing their stuff, etc, etc.
