He has been involved in the criminal Justice System for over 30 years. For the past 18 years he has worked with the New Jersey Juvenile Justice System in such capacities as Youth Counselor, Youth Worker Supervisor, Superintendent of Residential Programs, and District Parole Supervisor. The past 5 years he has been the Parole Revocation Hearing Officer for the JJC.
Earlier in his life, during the 1970’s, Mr. Jackson spent several years with the NJ Department of Corrections, in such titles as Tutor, Kitchen Helper, Building Maintenance Worker, Farm Worker, and Roadside Trash Removal Technician.
Although not technically an employee of the DOC during his stay with them, Jackson feels that his personal experiences growing up in the projects in Newark, NJ and his struggle with drug addict, which ultimately landed him to prison gives him an advantage in his work today with formerly incarcerated people and their families.
