Jewelville General Store is an online general store that follows in the tradition of the John Wiley family that settled in South Carolina and Georgia beginning in 1775. John served as Sheriff of the Camden District in South Carolina where he is known to have sold �Sundries� to the Militia. This was the beginning of a long association of Wiley descendents selling supplies and operating general stores. John�s son William Wiley left South Carolina and purchased land along an Indian trail known as the �Traders Path� in Franklin County Georgia. The community grew and became known as Jewelville. William built a log house and later a store across the road from the house. In 1858 Banks County was split off from Franklin County and Jewelville was finally put on the map officially. At one time the Wiley general store served as the post office, tax office and wedding chapel in addition to being a general store. Today the original general store building no longer houses a working store, but the Wiley's have operated country stores in and around Jewelville for almost 200 years. Two stores are still operated by John Wiley's descendants in Banks County, Georgia, and one descendent operates Jewelville General Store online from Dahlonega, Georgia. Jewelville General Store operates in the tradition of two and a quarter centuries of old fashion country service and hospitality. We provide quality products at a reasonable price for the home, garden, recreation, and country living. We are users of most of the products we sell; we're careful to pick those that we feel are the best; and then we offer them at affordable prices. New products are added weekly so keep coming back to see what's new. If you don't see what you want, give us a call or email us with a description of what you're looking for. We may be able to get it for you. In the future we'll be adding a number of crafts from local artist, an antique auction, a horse and livestock area and a lot of other interesting things befitting of a country store. We are authorized dealers for a number of well-known and old-line brands. We can even arrange installation of some products like standby generators and wood stoves in some areas of the country. We also service a number of the products that we sell. Some of the various product categories like antiques, flea market, and some crafts in the store are managed by family members and friends in the area that have specialized in that particular category for many years. It's our intention to provide good friendly service and quality products. We hope to make you a loyal customer so that you'll come back to Jewelville General Store over and over.
