Description
Jerry Weitz, Ph.D., AICP, established a planning and development consulting firm on a part-time basis in 1999 to provide services to public sector clients. In 2000, he began consulting work on a full-time basis, and in 2001 he incorporated his sole proprietorship as Jerry Weitz & Associates, Inc.
The firm specializes in growth management, comprehensive planning, land use regulations, and public policy. The firm also provides services to private individuals, firms, and businesses in the real estate development industry, including preparation of rezoning, special use, and variance applications and expert testimony in matters of zoning litigation. The principles that guide our consulting practice are to: 1) provide hands-on, superior quality services and products; 2) always deliver services and products on time and within budget; and 3) achieve repeat business from clients.
Weitz has practiced planning since 1985 in Georgia, Oregon, and Washington. He has worked for city, county, regional, and state governments as well as the private sector. He has completed and/or managed dozens of professional planning projects, including growth management assessments, comprehensive plans, zoning ordinances, subdivision regulations, design guidelines, annexation studies, and environmental studies. Weitz has a master of city planning degree from Georgia Tech and a Ph.D. in urban studies from Portland State University.
