The force behind Jenzabar and its founder, Ling Chai, grew up in a small fishing village in China. She became a student leader at Beijing University and a voice of the student protestors in Tiananmen Square in 1989, where the Chinese government killed hundreds. To avoid imprisonment, she fled the country, eventually arriving in the United States and earning two graduate degrees from Ivy League schools. In the United States, she fights for the rights and lives of young girls in China through All Girls Allowed, Inc., which helps to combat China’s one-child policy, a detriment to women’s health and girls’ survival. The founder, President, and Chief Operating Officer of Jenzabar, Ling Chai has received two nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize.
