Located at 950 West 41st Avenue, the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver (JCCGV) is more than just a building. The JCCGV offers exceptional cultural, educational, recreational and social programs and services. It is the home of various leading Jewish organizations, including the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver. Over generations, thousands of members, volunteers and donors have made the JCCGV what it is today. The JCCGV is a gathering place that reflects and accommodates the diverse needs of Vancouver-area Jews. No wonder the JCCGV is simply referred to as the "Centre"; it is truly at the heart of our community.
As leaders of this wonderful organization, it's our pleasure to welcome all of you to another season of vibrant programs and services. We take pride in being able to offer a plethora of exciting, progressive and high caliber courses. Our staff work with diligence and tenacity to bring to our community this range of nourishment - we hope that as you go through the Spring program guide, you find inspiration for yourselves and your families.
This coming season is a very exciting time for our Centre, as we continue to develop the momentum for the JCC Maccabi Games. Many of you are by now aware that this summer, more than 1500 Jewish teens from all over the world will gather in Vancouver, from August 13-18, when our community will host this mega event. The JCC Maccabi Games are essentially the Olympics for Jewish teens, but they serve a much larger purpose than just athletic competition. The Games also promote community involvement and will most probably galvanize the community with a fresh spurt of focus and purpose. Join us in being part of this community-building endeavour - be an athlete, be a volunteer, sign up as a host family - you will benefit from whatever involvement you choose.
