Title

The Jazzserver, earth's coolest jazz database!

Description

About us

The Jazzserver aims to promote the internationalisation of jazz and improvised music by providing a free platform for jazz musicians, venues and festivals to exchange information. The Jazzserver's clear layout and advanced search capabilities enable jazz professionals and -fans alike to easily avail themselves of this information. In addition the Jazzserver offers visitors several options to explore this excitingly diverse field of music.

The Jazzserver is maintained by De Nederlandse Jazzdienst (Dutch Jazz Service), a Dutch non-profit organisation that aims to support jazz and improvised music in The Netherlands. Another notable activity of De Nederlandse Jazzdienst is the annual presentation of the VPRO/Boy Edgar Prijs, Holland's most prestigious jazz-award.

The Jazzserver is designed by Mark Neurdenburg & Bas Kamer. Special thanks are owed to Muziek en Theater Netwerk for initiating the Jazzserver, to Stefan Berreth for his contribution to the early stages of the design and Kees Polling for writing most of the Dutch Artists descriptions.
