She has communicated with animals in zoological parks as well as in the wild during her travels in Africa and South America. She has sat among Mountain Gorillas and walked among tortoises on the Galapagos Islands. Jacquelin has communicated with cats, dogs, horses, dolphins, bats, birds, bears, chimps, rabbits and many other species.
uelin decided to try an experiment. She was visiting a zoo and asked a particular zebra to come stand in front of her if she was being heard. Within a minute, the zebra walked from the far side of the exhibit and stood in front of Jacquelin. Then she heard the zebra ask, "What do you want?" Jacquelin was off and running into communicating with animals after this experience in 1979. Jacquelin wasn't aware of anyone else doing this work or of any books on this subject, so this was a powerful and opening experience.
