IXeo Interactive is an Internet Exchange for interactive travel planning providing online users with live access to a global tourism product. IXeo is providing a customised portal and platform solutions for tourism destinations and the hospitality industry with a focus on sustainable tourism through enterprise.
The IXeo gateway
The IXeo gateway portal, customised to the needs and image of each country, includes comprehensive destination guides for over 2,000 locations with ‘live’ intuitive filtering to over 88,000 hotels, all scheduled carriers, many low-cost airlines, events, transfers, ground services, and activities with online intuitive concierge planning for dynamic packaging. The gateway includes the capability to promote local initiatives related to green, wildlife, environment, people and carbon aware projects.
The IXeo global initiative ix-world.com is based on providing all suppliers with a ZERO commission and zero transaction service fee and consumers with entirely unbiased travel planning. Suppliers pay a low annual subscription fee for inclusion in the network so consumers may access their product free of charge.
Destination marketing
IXeo provides destinations with gateway portals integrating local suppliers for interactive and impartial travel planning. This affords tourism boards the capability of formulating a more cohesive approach of their country’s tourism assets through a live product and promotional gateway.
UNWTO/Microsoft tourism project
IXeo has been selected as the third party provider of the tourism destination management platform within the Public Private Partnership established by the UNWTO and Microsoft. UNWTO is the World Tourism Organisation, a specialised agency of the United Nations aiming to promote sustainable development of tourism to its 153 nations membership. Microsoft’s involvement is closely aligned with Microsoft Unlimited Potential, its global commitment to help close the digital divide limiting developing countries from gaining the benefits of the digital revolution. UNWTO and Microsoft will incorporate the full existing IXeo tourism platform as a ready-made solution for rollout initially across Africa from the spring of 2009.
Micros-IX packaging tool
The micros-IX is a dynamic front-end web solution designed for Micros Fidelio hotels to increase promotion of their hotel products and services for increased distribution through generating a greater amount of bookings to the hotel’s own website. The destination & travel suite can be added to any existing website providing unlimited amounts of promotions online all controlled by the hotel. Hotels can publish their own services and make it more attractive by promoting services with local interest, culture, heritage, special events and points of interest. The visitor to the hotel’s website can also tailor own packages around the hotel’s products with flights, excursions, transfers and special promotions.

IXeo Interactive Travel SA is a registered corporation with head offices in Kuesnacht-Zurich, Switzerland, and a wholly owned subsidiary of ICON.NET SA, a privately held tourism & hospitality corporation based in Zug, Switzerland.
IXeo Interactive is headed by Graham Leslie, President and founder, who is a marketing & distribution expert in hospitality and tourism. Before creating IXeo, he acted as Chief Executive Officer of Serena Hotels, the hotel & safari lodge brand, and as Chairman of Tourism Promotion Services, which is a subsidiary of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development. Previous positions include the role of Senior Vice President of Kempinski Hotels & Resorts and Dusit Hotels & Resorts, and senior executive positions at Exclusive Hotels of the World, Conrad Hotels, Hilton Hotels Corporation and Hilton International.
The IXeo technology partner is German based Zartmann Touristik Systeme (zts) a veteran pioneer in developing IT solutions for the travel and tourism industry since 1984 and headed by Michael Zartmann.
