About me
After graduating from Lausanne Law School (Switzerland) in 1997, I wrote under the supervision of Professor Ivan Cherpillod a Ph.D. in intellectual property entitled “The Swiss Trademark Act as it relates to the Different Ways to protect Distinctive Signs” (Bippert Prize 2000, Laureat of the University of Lausanne 2000, Walther Hug Prize 2001). This research led me to get interested in domain names and, more generally, to the interplay between intellectual property and new technologies. I went on publishing books devoted to the “Uniform Domain Names Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP)” and “Intellectual Property and the Internet”, as well as numerous papers focusing on IP as a senior researcher at the Institute of Business Law (CEDIDAC) at Lausanne Law School. In 2004, these publications taken as a whole were awarded the Vontobel Prize, a prize given each year by the Swiss Society of Jurists to a legal practitioner having significantly contributed to the development of the law in a given field.
