The IOV is a UK-registered, not-for-profit limited company (No. 2623169), which is owned by its members and managed by a board of elected Executive Members. Each member agrees to act in accordance with our Code of Practice, and to strive to maintain the highest levels of production competence and professionalism in their work.
In May 2005, the IOV's Executive launched an initiative to produce the IOV's first-ever promotional video. With the backing of Sony and Vinten, the production was offered out to all members who had to submit a tender outlining their creative approach to the brief. The commission was finally awarded to Ian Jackson M.M.Inst.V. of Immedia Productions in Leeds on 5th July. Working to a budget of £5,000, plus the use of Sony's HDCAM cameras, VTRs, an Xpri Editing system - and camera support equipment from Vinten, the pre-production planning started immediately and the final video was signed off by the Executive at its meeting on 25th October.
