Gun holsters concealed by SmartCarry concealed holsters
Description
About Concealed Protection 3, Inc.
The SmartCarry® concealed carry holster was designed in 1994 by Charles W. Parrott, III in an attempt to find a comfortable way to carry his Ithaca M1911A-1. Originally known as Thunder belt®, the holster proved to be very practical and extremely comfortable, did not require any special clothing and offered no restrictions to body movements.
Charlie and his wife Carolyn decided there was a very good market potential for the holster, so they formed C & C Marketing to manufacture and sell the holster. They contacted the U. S. Patent & Trademark Office and requested information on applying for a patent and trademark. After studying the material sent by the USPTO, and doing much patent research at the Broward County, FL public library, they applied for a Utility Patent in July of 1997 for the invention and also applied for a registered trademark for the word Thunder belt®. U.S. Utility Patent Number 9,909,834 was issued for the invention in June, 1999.
They began selling Thunder belt® concealed carry holsters at local gun shows, and the enthusiasm of customers who had purchased the holster was very encouraging, so a web site was put up and the business continued to grow. Because the name "C & C Marketing" had already been incorporated in the State of Florida by another company, the company name was changed to Concealed Protection, 3, Inc. in 1998 and incorporated. The name of the product was also changed from Thunder belt® to SmartCarry® and the word SmartCarry was registered with the USPTO.
