Description
The seeds for Impianku were planted upon the realization by a group of friends that Malaysia is now half-way through the National Development Policy, a mere 15 years from the culmination of Vision 2020. How close are we, “ordinary” citizens like you and I, to achieving our goals, desires, and ambitions for our country? What are our dreams in the first place? Do we even dream about the future of our country and our place in it? Do Muthu, Abdullah and Ah Chong share the same dreams, hold to the same “vision” of a future Malaysia? Is this possible, or even necessary? Where will our differences or similarities take us?
Impianku was created to answer these questions. It is a project to gather the Malaysian Dreams of all Malaysians, and to display them in a public form such that all Malaysians will be privy to each other's dreams. We hope that through sharing our dreams, each idea, thought, or whimsical wish will serve to inspire us to start dreaming, challenge us to think critically about what our country’s future should be, and most importantly, motivate us to work toward our own personal vision of Malaysia.
We are committed to keeping Impianku as a site where contributors are able to post their impians freely, with no censorship save for profanities. This commitment unfortunately means that there will be times at which some submissions will elicit strong polarized responses, and we ask that all submissions be viewed with an open mind.
