Since 2001, The United Methodist Church has offered an unprecedented invitation to those seeking greater meaning and purpose in their lives with the promise of:
The baton has now been passed to your church. You have the opportunity to live the "Open Hearts" promise in exciting new ways. The entire Igniting Ministry effort is designed to help the local church understand this promise as well as reach out in their community with messages about God's love.
Using funding voted by the 2004 General Conference, the campaign helps the local church reach out, especially targeting people 25-54 years old. The purpose of Igniting Ministry is to proclaim the gospel as we reach these goals:
