Icelandair Hotels Inc. is one of the largest hotel companies in Iceland. The company runs two chains of hotels which are dispersed all around the country. All hotels are committed to outstanding service. Icelandair Hotels Inc. was established in 1998 when all of Icelandair Hotels activities were combined into one independent company. The company is owned solely by Icelandair.
Icelandair Hotels is a chain of eight first class, three/four-star hotels. The major emphasis is reflected in the name, the Icelandair Hotels trademark. The other hotel chain is the Hotel Edda, a chain of 15 summer hotels, all with 2 or 3 star facilities, Hotel Edda or Hotel Edda plus.
The largest hotels of the Icelandair Hotels chain are both in Reykjavik. They are Nordica hotel, a four-star hotel with 252 rooms and Icelandair hotel Loftleiðir, a four star hotel with 220 rooms. The star-rating given to the hotels is according to the Scandinavian Classification System, which is used in Iceland. The other six hotels which belong to this chain are in towns and on the countryside throughout Iceland. They have between 21 and 60 rooms and are rated as 3 or 4 star hotels. They are considered to be the best hotels available outside Reykjavík and all hotels are convienent for meetings and conferences.
