Title
Ice-Floe: International Poetry of the Far North
Description
About Ice-Floe
Founded in 2000 on the belief that poetry can present an intimate portrait of one's physical, psychological, and cultural life, Ice-Floe strives to create a forum for people of the Circumpolar North to share their best poetry with one another. In exploring our differences and our similarities, Ice-Floe provides high-quality international publication opportunities for northern poets, voices who tend to be marginalized, stereotyped, or overlooked by mainstream publishers.
Ice-Floe is published twice a year on each of the solstices. It is open only to poets residing in regions north of 60 degrees latitude. Volume 1 (2000) included poetry in some fifteen different languages, many of which are indigenous to the North.
What Readers and Critics Say
There are some really fine poems in purely artistic terms, others I would want to read for what they bring me from places and cultures I might never reach otherwise.
