Description

The Israeli Association for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy is a non-profit organization, established to serve as a professional home for psychotherapists who identify themselves with the psychoanalytic point of view and for other individuals, scientists and artists, who are interested in psychoanalytic thinking. The association was established in 1998 by the initiative of the late Dr. Yossi Hadar and its first committee members. The association aims to extend and deepen the knowledge of its members, enhance their training and to update members on current developments in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, supervision and psycho-diagnostics. Consequently, the association places emphasis on its ongoing activities and the continuous professional discourse enabled by its conferences. The association is a member of the EFPP, the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. Our representatives participate in the forums for child and adolescent psychotherapy. We plan to establish further connections with psychoanalytic associations around the world and we wish to serve as a bridge between the EFPP and the psychoanalytic training programs here in Israel.

Lectures, once monthly on Thursday nights which enable discourse on clinical or theoretical papers that are presented, as well as new ideas or initiatives by members.

The association initiates activities that create space for reflection on the reality of Israel, which is permeated by stress and violence, both regarding the therapeutic and social arenas.
