As the field has continued to grow and different areas of expertise have developed, IC&RC has kept pace with those changes and has responded to the need for certification in those areas to support its mission and to recognize the emerging professions.
Incorporated in 1981, and headquartered in Washington DC, the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium/Alcohol & Other Drug Abuse Inc (IC&RC) is a not-for-profit voluntary membership organization comprised of certifying agencies involved in credentialing alcohol and drug abuse counselors, clinical supervisors and prevention specialists.
IC&RC and its members are committed to public protection through the establishment of quality, competency-based certification programs for professionals engaged in the prevention and treatment of addictions and related problems.
