- When I was first diagnosed with Crohn's disease, I did quite a bit of reading to help me better understand what my doctors were telling me. Naturally, as a computer geek I also did a ton of research on the Internet and was surprised to find that, although there were quite a few sites that had information about IBD, many of them were either out-of-date, difficult to navigate, targeted at health professionals or sponsored (and in my mind biased) by drug companies. I was looking to find a sort of Yahoo! for IBD which I found just did not exist. As I recuperated I began to build IBDanswers.com.
