Description

Hyperwerks Entertainment:

Hyperwerks Entertainment is a company of young artists and writers who have joined together to create a new line of products for a variety of media.

"For too long comic books have been relegated to the underground of pop culture. In Japan, for instance, comic books are perceived as not only a legitimate art form, but mature entertainment. Our goal at Hyperwerks is to bring graphic storytelling to the forefront of pop culture in America", says Hyperwerks founder Karl Altstaetter.

Since its inception in 1997, Hyperwerks has created a three part Deity mini-series: Original Series, Darkness & Light, and Revelations which was published under the Image Comics banner. Additional titles from the Altstaetter/Napton creative team are two Deity spin-offs: Catseye and Kosmic Kat as well as the fantasy genre mini-series, Saint Angel. Currently, Hyperwerks is publishing a Four part series: "Rostam - Tales from the Shahnameh". This series features Persian Mythological Heros from the great Poem written By Ferdowsi over 1000 years ago. The four Books are: "Rostam and Sohrab", "Return of the King", "Battle with the Deevs", and finally, "Search for the King".

Additionally, artist and writer Steve Buccellato created the Weasel Guy/ Witchblade crossover as well as the black & white comic Weasel Guy: Road Trip.

Other Hyperwerks product lines include Requiem: The Deity/Catseye crossover 3 issue mini-series.

Film Roman, the animation studio behind "The Simpsons" and "King of the Hill" optioned the rights to Deity with the intention of developing the comic book into an animated primetime television series marketed to a young, hip audience. Future plans for Hyperwerks is to expand into other types of media with the release of a Deity action-figure, video game and soundtrack in the near future.
