- My name is Dan Ausili, and I have been the owner and operator of Hydra-Clean since August 1, 1983. Hydra-Clean was founded in May, 1975 by G. E. "Scotty" Scott, and was one of the first carpet cleaning companies in central Illinois to use the newly developed truck mounted hot water extraction carpet cleaning system. This new technology revolutionized the carpet cleaning industry. Wall to wall carpets could now be cleaned thoroughly in the customers home with better results and faster drying time. Hence the phrase "Mobile Carpet Cleaning Plant" was born. I worked part-time for Scotty for several years until he retired, and I learned a great deal from him.
