Description

When a man fakes his own death to appease his materialistic wife, who then refuses to share the insurance money with him, he is forced to start a new life where he finds true love until his wife tries to kill him for real.

The screenplay for DEAD WAIT was inspired by the true story of Milton Windsor Harris. The events surrounding his disappearance in New Zealand in May, 1985 until his capture in May, 1989 are fictionalized in the screenplay, including his faked death and subsequent insurance fraud. DEAD WAIT is a romantic comedy, but we are also considering another film as well which would chronicle the actual events.
