This has been a long time in coming for us. Hub BBS is the parent board of Hub BBS, Too and was established back in October 1993 in Lubbock Texas. Over the years the former owner carefully nurtured his baby, adding lines and games, turning his board into a large-sized active board. One of the games was the Pvp MajorMud game that was placed on a DMA server. We always had hardware problems with that server! In October 2000, the boards were sold to an active member, and moved to Denver Colorado the following June. The Non-Pvp game stayed on the main server, and has been up since the move. Splitting the servers also allowed us to add a Tradewars Gold Server, now newly installed here on Hub BBS, Too and christened Stardock Omega.
After running as a Pvp game for about 18 months, the members decided to go back to a Non-Pvp setting. That change was made on September 1, 2002. In May 2003, the boards returned to Texas, and are now housed in a secure co-location in Fredericksburg.
The DMA architecture is still sold, but no longer supported in any way. This antique piece of software allowed Sysops to run a second mud game without having to purchase a second copy of the BBS software. The new owner decided this was not the ideal way to go and has since purchased a new copy of Worldgroup as well as obtained the appropriate MajorMud licenses to run the new board on its own server.
