- THE STORY BEHIND HOVERBAY
- In 2001 Markus 'matzegi' Gladbach (keys) and Stephanie 'Sam' Marx (vocals) began to produce their first tracks in matze's bedroom studio. Having played in numerous bands with various musical influences since ages both shared a love for mellow, funky, groovy tunes - and they both knew a lot of people involved in making music and sharing that same love - in many cases they knew each other musically-wise because they played in the same bands and often were already friends for years. Quickly the two-(wo)man project was joined by friends stopping by and putting their ideas into the music. At that time they called themselves 'the Cosmopolitan Funk Fighters'.
