Description
The Houston Gay Guide began as a hobby in the Winter of 1995. Very little information was published on Gay life in the Houston area and most of what did exist was usually well over a year out of date. Travelers and local Houstonians that wanted to find out about gay related bars, clubs, and businesses needed an easy resource to gay Houston.
The site began as a basic list of the local bars and some of the gay friendly businesses on America Online. The Guide expanded over the years to include seperate sections for restaurants, shops, maps, and other information that would be helpful to travelers to Houston.
In the Winter of 1998, the Houston Gay Guide obtained its own domain name and moved from AOL to a large hosting server on the Internet. This has given us more freedom and room to grow. We hope to expand the site over the next few months to help serve the needs of travelers and Houstonians seeking information of gay life in Houston.
