- Peter & Cherylann Schimmelfennig fell in love with this hotel a couple of years ago when they were taking a ride through California's historical Gold Country on their way to Yosemite. The hotel had been closed for a couple of years, and was not in such good condition. CherylAnn possessed the vision, and Peter provided the know-how, and together they brought new life to this historical monument. It was recently opened in 2004 and is already getting rave reviews from travelers worldwide!
