A few days ago, Jack Cafferty of CNN lambasted Sen. Arlen Specter(R-PA) regarding a Washington Post report that said Specter was ready to offer Amnesty in the FISA/warrentless wiretapping investigation.

Another part of the Specter bill would grant blanket amnesty to anyone who authorized warrantless surveillance under presidential authority, a provision that seems to ensure that no one would be held criminally liable if the current program is found illegal under present law.

You may remember that earlier, Cafferty had praised Specter as "all that is standing between us and a full-blown dictatorship in this country."
