Title

Hawkes Bay Hastings Bed and Breakfast

Description

Hawkes Bay is a region of striking scenic contrast with dramatic sea cliffs, park-like farm lands, winding stony rivers and rugged hill country. Adding colour and interest to an already beautiful landscape are orchards, old homesteads, historic settlements, and vineyards of all sizes which produce internationally regarded fine wines.

The twin cities of Napier and Hastings provide a wide variety of attractions for visitors. Napier, the Art Deco capital of the world, is famous for its Art Deco architecture, a legacy of the great 1931 earthquake. It is also well known for the many attractions along the Marine Parade including Marineland and the Aquarium. Just 20 minutes drive away lies Hastings with the surrounding countryside featuring a number of stunning vineyards and orchards. Hastings city itself boasts beautiful parks and unique Spanish Mission architecture.

For those who enjoy water sports, rushing white water rivers lead to the Pacific Ocean, which is warm in summer, with safe beaches. Fish abound in the sea and rivers while Cape Kidnappers is home to the world's largest accessible mainland gannet colony. The region has a Mediterranean climate: sunny, dry and ideal for outdoor activities.
