In 1992 after staying in a number of holiday homes and loving it, we decided to try and publish a book of holiday homes available throughout New Zealand. At that time there was nothing like this available on the market and it was difficult to find out about these places if you didn't know someone who owned one.
Most of these amazing holiday homes were sitting vacant throughout the year which is such a waste! Staying in a holiday home, adds so much to the overall holiday experience as they are all so different, each having it's own character, charm and personality! It definitely adds to the overall holiday experience and memories. And is almost as good as staying with the locals!
The book was first published in 1993 and grew yearly from there.
In 1997 we branched out into a website and were the first in NZ to offer holiday homes for rent via the web.
The website now lists over 3000 holiday homes throughout New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific and continues to grow. The web offers a lot of advantages over the book such as booking calendars, more photos, feedback from guests, movies etc. But the one of the best comments we got was from someone who purchased the book - they said: "Just loved reading it - almost a holiday in itself!"
