Vienna Hofburg Orchestra - Classical Concerts in Vienna Austria
The Vienna Hofburg Orchestra was found by the conductor Gert Hofbauer in 1971. Under his direction 75 musicians from all large orchestral societies in Vienna came together to cultivate Viennese waltz and operetta music and carry it into the world. The program features the most famous waltz and operetta melodies by Johann Strauss, Franz Léhar and opera aries by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Classical concerts with the Vienna Hofburg Orchestra are performed between May and December in the Hofburg's Festival Halls in the Redouten-Wing.
Christmas and New Year's Concerts
The Vienna Hofburg Orchestra performs Christmas Day Concerts on the 25th of December,the New Year's Eve Concert is performed annually on December 31st at the Redouten Hall in the Vienna Hofburg. Every year on January 1st the Vienna Hofburg Orchestra also celebrates the New Year with their guests in the flower-decorated Festival Hall and Redouten Hall of the Vienna Hofburg.
