Title

Historical Miniatures and Dioramas by Thomas Feely

Description

Thomas Feely has been creating 3-dimensional military art in the form of the diorama for 20 years.

His one-of-a-kind creations in miniature depict various episodes in history, military battle and events. These dioramas are minutely detailed, recreating the colors and texture of a scene as well as the positions and placement of combatants. His first diorama, “The Battle of the Alamo” , has been on display at the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas since 1986. His diorama “Crockett’s Last Stand” was on display at The Texas Adventure in San Antonio from 1995 until 2000. Other dioramas can be seen at Washington’s Crossing State Park in New Jersey, and at the Live Oak Foundation in Louisiana. Numerous other dioramas are in private collections all over the world. His Civil War dioramas are sold at local gallery in Gettysburg, Pa.

Through the art of dioramas Tom has depicted many varied time periods -- from Hannibal crossing the Alps to Washington crossing the Delaware; from the Spartans at Thermopylae to Custer’s Last Stand. Tom’s dioramas illuminate history in a way no other medium can.

At his Historical Miniatures Studio in Jackson, Pa. the pewter figures used in the dioramas are created, hand painted and positioned within his detailed, scale recreation of the terrain and scenery for timeless historical accuracy.
