Description
Pat Collier Frank has a long career in public service, beginning in 1972 with her election to the Hillsborough County School Board. In 1976, she was elected to the Florida House of Representatives, and was a State Senator from 1978 to 1988. She distinguished herself by being the first woman elected “Most Effective First–Term Member” by the House of Representatives and was also the first woman nominated “Most Respected Senator” by her Senate colleagues.
Elected to the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners in 1998, she served three years of her first term as Chairman of the BOCC. She was re-elected to the BOCC in 2002 and was elected Clerk of the Circuit Court in 2004.
Pat Frank was the first woman to be admitted to the Georgetown University School of Law, and was among the first class of women admitted to the University of Florida, where she received a degree in finance and taxation, with a minor in economics.
