Origins
Hillside Software was founded in Glasgow, Scotland in 1991. In the early nineties most of our work involved the design, development and quality assurance of real-time monitoring systems. However, over time, the volume of our quality management and information security management work has grown. Today, provision of management systems consultancy and delivering training courses accounts for most of our business.
People
The business is led by Richard Murray, one of the original co-founders. Before founding Hillside Software, Richard was a Principal Consultant in a leading UK systems engineering company. He has extensive experience of software design and development in the aerospace, power generation, oil & gas, and defence sectors. Using his extensive experience of developing and implementing working practices for software quality management and information security management, Richard was responsible for devising, and developing, Hillside's LOW-PAPER DIET™ approach to ISO 9001 compliance.
Customers
Our customer list reads like a "Who's Who" of the Scottish information technology sector. We've worked successfully with over fifty IT organizations ranging from a small, three-person software house to a business with a turnover of tens of millions of pounds.
