HCA Habitat - Home Page Intro

Description

Founded in 1976, Atlanta-based Habitat teamed with churches, businesses and non-profit organizations to build 100,000-plus houses in more than 60 countries, including some 30,000 homes across the United States. Habitat's most visible volunteer is former President Jimmy Carter. The non-profit, non-denominational Christian agency holds a straightforward mission: "We welcome all people to join us as we build simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with those in need of adequate shelter."

We're excited about providing funding and employee volunteers to build homes in the following locations: Cartersville, GA (Cartersville Medical Center), Kissimmee, FL (Osceola Regional), Lafayette, LA (Women's and Children's Hospital), Las Vegas, NV (Sunrise Hospital/ Southern Hills Medical Center), Reston, VA (Reston Medical Center), Riverside, CA (Riverside Community Hospital), San Antonia, TX (Metropolitan Methodist Hospital).

The following hospitals had a blast building in 2002: Arlington, TX (Medical Center of Arlington), Austin, TX (St. David’s Partnership), Wichita, KA (Wesley Medical Center), Terre Haute, IN (Terre Haute Regional), Ft. Pierce, FL (Lawnwood Regional Medical Center), St. Petersburg, FL (Northside Hospital).
