- I'm a PhD student in the natural language processing group of the Computer Science Department at Columbia University. I'm interested these days in the intersection of syntactic and network analysis of communication. Specifically, I've been developing algorithms to accurately predict the roles a person plays in their organization by automated analysis of the language they use in their emails, and the topology of the network of people they communicate with. (And yes, this work is indeed funded by the NSA. I don't like that either.) I have a latent interest in the computational biology of networks, as well.
