After 20 years working in Industry as a technical manager,I became disenchanted with that way of life.Clocks and various other mechanical antiques had been a hobby for many years,so I opened Hansen Chard Antiques in 1984, hoping to turn a passion into a business.
My intention was to buy and restore clocks for sale to the public,but it soon became clear that there was a need to add barometers to my catalogue,and offer a restoration service for customers own items,which were flooding into the shop in a never ending stream.
