Bio
Hans Laurenceau prides himself as a well rounded native Miamian. Hans grew up in North Miami, the youngest of three children from hard-working Haitian immigrant parents who left Haiti looking for the promise of a better life in America. His diverse upbringing integrated with a plethora of experience gives Hans a unique outlook on providing positive changes to his community. As a youth in North Miami, Hans assisted his father in the family Real Estate business. As they remodeled homes, his positions varied from electric work, appliance repair, and plumbing, to accounting, billing, and investment analysis. Hans’ roots are local, reflect a commitment to excellence and public service, and, above all, run deep: his brother is a Police Sergeant with a local police department; both his mother and sister are Public School teachers in Miami-Dade County.
Hans' education did not stop there; he also attended several schools throughout Florida. At the onset of Hans' scholastic career his primary education occurred at St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in Miami Shores. His secondary education followed at Southwest Miami High School, in which he applied and was accepted to the University of Florida for his post-secondary education. Hans proceeded to graduate UF early with a full scholarship to attend Florida State University's Law School Program.
In recent years, Hans has worn many hats in his community. Politically, Hans has participated in the political process at the municipal, state, and national level. As a Prosecutor with the State Attorney's Office, Hans has fought for the public's best interest by defending our laws, protecting victims and enforcing public opinion.
