Description
Gunsmithing is not limited to handgun repair at Handgun Repair Shop. I can repair and rebuild out of production and antique hand guns, rifles, and shotguns. I have successfully found the parts needed to repair antique handguns, rifles, and shotguns dating back to pre-Civil War and beyond. About 70% of the gun repair work that arrives at my shop is 50, 100, 150 years old or older. I can install barrel liners to restore worn or rusted bores, and re-chamber rifles in both standard and wildcat calibers.
I have rebuilt modern handguns, rifles, and shotguns, as well as some that were all but destroyed in a house fire while stored in a "fireproof" gun safe. I can also do the more routine repairs of worn parts, cleaning, lubrication & maintenance. I can build customized 1911 type pistols, do trigger jobs, tactical & concealed-carry reliability, and de-horning bevel work. I can order and install custom stocks, sights and scopes. All have been performed to the complete satisfaction of my customers.
Mechanical abilities were fostered early in my life by my father, a machinist and tool & die maker. He bought me an "Erector Set" at age 5, then taught me to measure to thousandths of an inch with a micrometer, and bought me a "Visible V-8 Engine" model to assemble at age 12. I refinished my grandfather's single shot 12 Ga. shotgun somewhere around that time as well. I rebuilt the single cylinder gasoline engine on my mini-bike by myself at age 12.
