- Thank you for visiting our about us web page. Handcrafted Pendants was founded by myself, Arlene Horowitz, and my talented husband David Horowitz, who is also a great jewelry designer. We started the company in 1989 as a sort of garage based hobby, as both my husband and I were employed at the time as goldsmiths for a large local jewelry fabrication company. After about three years of operating the business on the side, word of mouth spread, and our client list started to grow extremely large. At the point where we could no longer grow the company with regular full time employment, we finally decided to pursue our dream of setting up our own design and fabrication studio.
