Company History
Halogen Software spun off of the successful business-consulting firm, Manta Consulting. Manta was established in 1989 and focused on delivering Lotus Notes applications to the Fortune 500, including Hewlett-Packard, Motorola, Orange and others. The organization created one of the first Web-based survey tools in the late 1990’s and successfully marketed their solution to large organizations.
Early in 2001, Manta’s founders realized that a successful software company should focus solely on product delivery. To achieve this, they created an independent Halogen Software Inc. with separate employees and executive. Halogen Software also emerged with a brand new mandate; bring "enterprise class" advantages to all organizations - simply and affordably.
Halogen focused from the very start on the human capital management market and quickly realized their product strategy was the very opposite of almost all other vendors providing workforce management software. Unlike the large ERP vendors, Halogen’s philosophy was to provide organizations - and not just the global 1000 - with ‘enterprise class’ employee performance and talent management solutions that were profoundly simple and affordable to implement, use and administer.
They recognized that with skilled workforces being the most important asset of the new knowledge-based economy, organizations of all sizes would need affordable, automated tools to assess and understand the potential of their workforce and align employee performance with overall business strategy.
