Description
The Centre for Groundwater Studies is an international cooperative research and education venture with strong focus on processes of groundwater recharge, discharge, contamination, remediation and management. It addresses major land and water resources issues in Australia and overseas through interdisciplinary research by its member organisations, agencies and companies.
The Centre for Groundwater Studies reached a milestone in 1997 with 10 years of operation. Commencing in 1987, the Centre has become a major institution for groundwater research and education both nationally and internationally.
During the past two years the Centre has made great progress in forging links with international institutions particularly in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, China and South Africa. These linkages are providing a base for collaboration in research and education which the centre will build on in the years ahead.
