About Us
Groundwork East London has a breadth of experience and professional skills, which it uses to deliver its programmes of activity. Our key strength is project management ranging from small community projects to large environmental capital projects.
We help long-term unemployed people acquire skills, experience and jobs by working on regeneration projects in their community. Groundwork East London's employment programmes aim to benefit individuals, while also helping to improve the local environment and build a stronger sense of community. Groundwork East London has delivered an innovative transitional employment programme providing waged training in activities such as horticulture, classroom assistants and construction. We provide environmental training through the Government's New Deal employment programme, helping many to find permanent employment.
The Employment Team at Groundwork East London is able to design, access funding and deliver innovative employment programmes. It currently has a staff of five supporting approximately 65 trainees. We achieve excellent outcomes – over 75% of trainees move into full-time employment.
