Who is Green Vista Water Gardens
Thank you for visiting Green Vista Water Garden's new home on the Internet. I'd like to take a few moments to briefly introduce myself and my company.
Green Vista is the name of the business I started in 1995 specializing in the installation and maintenance of custom designed water gardens. I am a graduate of Ohio State (B. S.) and Purdue University (M. S.) horticulture programs with a specialization in urban landscape horticulture. I have over 20 years experience in the lawn and garden industry working in positions as diverse as owning/operating a small fruit and vegetable truck farm (9 years) to general manager of the garden center at Scarff's Nursery in New Carlisle (8 years).
I first became involved with water gardening while managing at Scarff's Nursery in the 1980's since we ( as did most garden centers) 'dabbled' a little in water gardening. Since I've always taken pride in knowing my subject/business thoroughly, it soon became apparent to me that as well as I was versed in most areas of horticulture and landscaping,... I hardly knew a darn thing about water gardening! My curiosity aroused, I installed my first pond at home in 1993 and quickly became "hooked" on the exciting world of water gardening. The sound of flowing water and the beauty of colorful fish playing among blooming water lilies creates a peaceful environment unlike any other in the garden.
