I was born on May 8, 1959. After various stints running ski lifts at Killington Ski Area, picking apples in Putney, and traveling in Central America, I moved to Burlington, Vermont in 1981. Over the following several years, I taught skiing, flipped pizzas, sold bicycles, and worked as an adolescent and family counselor for a community action agency. I eventually went on to study law, graduating from Vermont Law School, summa cum laude (1st in my class) in 1990.
After receiving my law degree, I served as a law clerk to Associate Justice John A. Dooley of the Vermont Supreme Court. I entered private practice with a Burlington law firm in 1991, concentrating in professional malpractice and general litigation. In 1998, I opened my own litigation practice, dedicated exclusively to representing injured individuals and their families.
I am a proud member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Vermont Trial Lawyers Association, the Vermont Bar Association and the Chittenden County Bar Association. I serve on the Board of Managers of the Vermont Trial Lawyers Association, and am an active member of the VTLA Medical Malpractice Committee. I am also a member of the Vermont Bar Association Bench-Bar Committee (judge-attorney relations).
